Hiyahiya Kōri
The Shaved Ice. A mountain of shaved ice in a footed glass bowl in the middle of the pit, with three syrups running down it: strawberry (a heart), melon (a diamond) and blue (a wave). No face: the little pennant on top is its mood. It teaches you to match yourself to the floor.

What it does
Three syrup cups circle the bowl. Walk into one and you wear its flavour: its shape floats over your head.
Pick the flavour you want to stand on.
Every nine seconds or so it pours. Syrup floods the floor in six wedges, and then the whole plate flash-freezes.
Stand on your own colour when it freezes. The cold bounces back and the bowl gets brain freeze, so it takes extra damage. Stand anywhere else and you are frozen and hurt.
The cold near the bowl fills snowflakes over your head, and five freeze you. The flakes you carry into a good pour make its brain freeze last longer.
Take flakes when you can afford them, and bring them to a pour on your own colour.
It throws a blob of syrup at you, with a red circle first.
Walk out of the red.
How to beat it
- Look at the floor: Find your colour on the floor before the pour ends. The wedges tell you where.
- Change colour at a cup: If the floor is not yours, walk to another cup and wear a different flavour.
- Greed pays: Flakes make the brain freeze last longer. A few are worth carrying, five freeze you.
- Flawless: No toss and no freeze hits you.
