Hokuhoku Yaki-imo
The Stone Oven. A dome of smooth grey river stones, 3.4 metres across, squatting in the middle of the pit with three purple sweet potatoes roasting on top. No limbs, no mouth: the ember glow in two gaps between its stones is its whole face. It teaches the rally: catch what it throws, hold it, send it back.

- Item level 37: the set a key 9 run drops, in epic
That is the gear this fight was tuned for. More gear makes it easier, and good play can win below it. How item level works here.
What it does
A potato is lobbed high onto your spot. A red circle fills first, with a mint dot in the middle of it.
Stand on the mint dot and you catch it. Walk away and it splits on the floor, hurting anyone still in the red.
In your hands the potato heats up. A bar over your head runs warm, hot, then piping hot.
Throw it back before the bar ends, or it bursts in your hands.
Press the throw key to send it into the oven. The hotter it was, the harder it hits.
Wait for hot, not for the last second.
Each return comes back faster and farther round the oven. The last return is too hot to take: the oven's stones tumble open.
Hit the oven with everything while its stones are open.
How to beat it
- Be on the dot: The mint dot is the whole catch. Walk to it while the potato is in the air.
- Throw when it is gold: The heat bar going gold is the cue to send it back.
- Do not hold too long: Past the bar it bursts in your hands and stops your healing for a while.
- Flawless: No potato splits on you and none bursts in your hands.
Every class can win: each attack has a red warning on the floor and can be walked out of. About the Hug Club.
